ADVWoman Rendezvous

Women’s FREE Moto Campout
Rabbit Valley OHV Fruita, Colorado
May 2-4, 2025

Is there anything better than hanging with BadAss Women riders?

How about your choice of cool single track, dual sport, or ADV rides?

Doesn’t a Saturday night group dinner and campfire sound yummy?

BONUS: Optional Overnight Tour to Moab and back!

What is it?  A low key “Rendezvous” or “meet up” for women riders. Yes, you can bring a respectful guy, but this is all about women connecting with women! There are no fees to attend this meetup, but we will ask for donations to support SheADV: Women Exploring on Two Wheels, Connecting Educating, Empowering women adventure riders.

What is Rabbit Valley? Located near the Colorado and Utah border, Rabbit Valley OHV (RVOHV) is a large open area with miles of desert trails that wind through sandstone formations.  The terrain within the OHV area consists of dirt roads, flowy single track and steep, rocky single track.  The terrain surrounding the area includes many miles of ADV friendly dirt roads winding in and out of the Book Cliffs, through the desert, and over Baxter Pass.  Whatever your heart desires- single track, double track, or ADV dirt roads; whatever your skill level- beginner to expert; there’s something for everyone.

Camping & lodging Options? We have reserved three Group Sites at Fluffle Campground on the south side of the highway.  Each site accommodates up to 20 people, and 4 vehicles. Get there early to camp with us at Fluffle 7, 8, and 9. All camping is primitive, no hookups, no water, firepits and some bathrooms. Bring lots of water!  Cell service throughout the area is good.

If you prefer to make your own camping arrangements, RVOHV boasts four separate campgrounds.  Fluffle is south of the highway, easy in and out and handles big rigs and groups. High North Campground is easy to get to- located on the North side of highway with great views of the valley below.  Jouflas Campground is also on the south side of the highway and easy to get to, quiet, smaller and tent friendly.  Knowles Campground, south of the highway, is the furthest away, the prettiest campground, overlooking the Colorado river.  Knowles is the furthest away and most difficult to get to.  You must drive through several miles of often deep sand.  It is not appropriate for trailers or large rigs.  Camping reservations are made via recreation.gov.

Hotel accommodation is available approximately 20 miles East in Fruita.

Who’s cooking? Part of the fun is hanging with women after we ride.  Saturday night, for a minimum donation of $10, we will offer a group dinner (probably spaghetti, salad, garlic break, some kind of chocolate.)  Proceeds from Saturday dinner benefit SheADV.  Otherwise, all food and drink are on you.  Of course, everyone is welcome to bring a lawn chair and picnic with the camp group at Fluffle 7, 8, & 9.  Water is not available, so please pack in whatever you require.  It’s the desert, so pack lots of water!

What about motorcycles? Licensed and unlicensed motorcycles can be ridden in RVOHV.  ALL MOTORCYCLES RIDING OHV TRAILS MUST HAVE COLORADO OHV STICKER.  Licensed dual sports and ADV bikes riding double track and dirt roads outside of OHV area must be licensed but do not require Colorado OHV sticker.  Fuel is available in Loma, approximately 16 miles NE of RVOHV.

Fundraiser? We’re all about supporting women who ride.  One of the best ways to accomplish this is through SheADV. This volunteer driven community of women ADV riders is working hard to complete 401c3 certification, website updates, and expansion of services.  SheADV is an invaluable resource for women to connect, learn, support each other, and be the forces of nature only women can be!  Donations, AKA Love Offerings, will be available via cash, electronically and you’ll have the opportunity to purchase SheADV Supporter Packages!

What it is not? These are NOT professionally guided rides.  We encourage riders to share their rides with other women.  We will have a method for riders to list the ride they intend to do and the number of people who can join.  RVOHV trail maps are available at Stay the Trail rabbit-valley-map-final.jpg (1067×864).  You can also download the MVUM map for use with a navigation device.  Please note, these maps only reflect the Colorado side of RVOHV.  There are additional trails on the Utah side of the border.

We will have local maps showing surrounding area dirt roads.  We will have some GPX files available.  Pat Jacques has been riding RVOHV many years.  It’s one of her favorites.  It has everything from gnarly, technical single track, to easy, laid back passenger car drivable dirt roads. She has also been exploring a bunch of surrounding ADV rides. One of her favorite ADV routes, Baxter Pass, is scenic. Lately she has been exploring of road routes all the way to Moab!  She will be available to discuss trail and ride options.

This is all about women connecting with women.  Experienced riders familiar with the area are encouraged to include others in their rides.  There are multiple smaller easier options for newer riders unfamiliar with the area.  No matter what, it will be insanely fun!

Is Training Available? Yes, group training will be offered Thursday May 1, by  SheADV’s lead trainer, Shal Willson.  Your investment is $185.  This buys you 4 hours of world class training, stellar outride, and loads of fun!  Please contact Shal via email shalmariewilson@gmail.com or phone 206.351.7390.
